There are some modules in the market, free and paid, for adding PHP blocks (special block) and examining and changing PHP blocks.  I tend to use "Block Tools" by Deano but that is just me.  As I said, there are free and paid modules in the market.  Of course you can go to sys_pages_compose (or close to that) and find the block by looking at the page the block is on.  It will be listed as type PHP.  You can then examine and edit the block in the database.  Not all blocks can be seen in the backend; everything is available by going to the database but you can screw things up big time if you do something you shouldn't.  Always make a backup of the database first.  Heck, this is a good idea any time you are working on things.  How much can you afford to lose at any one time?  I tend to back up before I make any major changes to the site that can not easily be undone.  And don't forget the file stores in the modules; accidentally uninstall the photo module and all photo files are wiped.
