Before posting questions plz also try to find the solution in search. The answer might be there already. You can change the status of any user any time from admin panel. Go to members area, select a member and change its status. You need to play with dolphin a lot by your self. Am just saying cause every 1 here is not ready to answer every tinny question :/

If they are not active by default then that means you either have dolphin setup to require email confirmation or admin approval first. What are the settings under Admin->Settings->Advanced settings->Moderation.

The option Auto-activate profiles after joining if checked tells dolphin to auto activate the profile after joining without the admin have to do it manually. If that is unchecked, you will have to activate all members manually.

The option Auto-confirm profile without confirmation email: if checked will auto activate the members without them having to verify their email address first. If unchecked then the profile will remain inactive until the member verifies their email address.

Members that are inactive cannot use chat.

Most of the time,  "members" that didn't follow through with email confirmation, are spammers that don't want to go through the trouble.  Either that, or they try to sign up with a bogus email address.  I left a site unattended for a few months, and had thousands of these.

My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees.

Or, their confirmation email could just be sitting in their spam folder, and they're not even aware of it.
