Site getting too big....

Wow. how time flies. My site has topped 212 gigs in size so I am looking at ways to trim it down. I have tens of thousands of images and hundreds of uploaded videos on my site from the members. It has been growing steadily now since 2009 when I first put TowTalk on a dolphin script.

So what to do. The Flickr api never really worked very well and I absolutely hate the current default photo gallery for Dolphin so I thought it might be time for a change.

I sent a note to Anton and I am considering buying one of his gallery mods. In the note, I asked him if it would be possible to have the mod auto-delete any images once they reach 1 year in age. My members are on board with this but I wanted to get this groups opinions on how to manage a site where the users post a lot of pics...... I don't want to limit their ability to post recent photos but for the most part, as they get older, they are no longer as relevant. I don't see anything in the market with this capability built into it.

If anyone has a better idea, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks but honestly speaking, I've never really been happy with it. There are numerous bugs and inconsistencies throughout the site. Some of them were so bad that I just removed the functionality of certain mods just to make it usable.

Since 2009 I have been a member here and in all that time and through all my efforts I have never been presnted with a product from Boonex that could be considered even remotely finished or complete. It looks good on the surface but if you spend any time there, you will find all kinds of issues with it's performance.
