Site admin does not have full site access.

According to a lot of cms sites, the site administrator has full access to every aspect of the site,,, well, in Dolphin, the administrator is limited to the standard membership access set in the system membership actions.

Ideally, not only should there be a non-members, standard and promotion, but there should be a specific level for administrators, that regular uses can not have access to, and seeing that there isn't one, the site administrator is bound by the system actions of a registered user.

To create a membership of that level, would mean it gets shown in a users membership and is able to purchase that level and gain full access (definitely not acceptable).

In A/V chat I set up a private room for site moderations and admins, and set it so that standard access is not permissible, but doing that, also prevents an admin from entering the room, because of the 'Standard' access the admin has.

admin is not suppose to even look at the membership level settings. In other words it should not matter what you set the standard level settings for. Admin accounts are suppose to ignore it. admin has full access to every part of the site with no restrictions.

So. if you are finding a area in dolphin where the admin does not have access then it is a bug. Provide step by step instructions on how we can reproduce the problem, and see if you can also reproduce it at demo.boonex.com.

If it can be reproduced then it needs to be reported as a bug.

I found the problem, it was red5 RMS, I followed instructions to the letter to install and set up red5 for A/V flash chat, but for some reason, one of the files was missing:- realm.properties

but when I re-install red5, and changing the required files, then setting A/V chat to use it, it worked, but I still have to keep restarting red5 every time a new room is created, otherwise when the page is auto refreshed, all it does is just hangs on 'Connecting...............'.

I found another issue with membership levels:-

1.......Install payments and memberships modules

2.......create new level 'Basic'

3.......set minimal actions

4.......select system 'Standard' level

5.......uncheck what was allowed in Basic level

admin tries to use features unchecked in 'Standard' level from site home page and fails with:- Your current membership (Standard) doesn't allow you to use chat.

Which means the administrator is actually locked to the actions in the 'Standard' level, which also defeats the idea of having membership levels,,,,, when a new level is created and actions are set for that level, the system levels actually override the new levels, EG, if you don't want someone to use chat unless they pay for a basic membership,,, that function has to be disabled in the system Levels, but doing so will also restrict the administrator too.

ADDENDUM

What if you want to restrict a user from uploading files until he/she pays for a membership?, in one of the paid memberships is the ability to upload files, so to stop freebie members from uploading,,, the system levels have to be changed too, which means the administrator is also affected by the changes also.
