Simple Messenger in Internet Explorer doesn't work

We've received a few support tickets regarding this issue now. Simple Messenger in Internet Explorer doesn't work in 7.1 - you type a message, press enter and the window minimises and/or the page simply reloads and doesn't send the message. It works fine in Safari and Chrome. Any ideas?

I tried this fix and it does not work, however the page doesn't reload anymore so it's some progress lol.
If you go to someones profile and send a msg. from the actions block it will work, if you try and send msg. from the members bottom menu messenger it will take you to /mail.php?mode=compose&recipient_id=xxxx
if you try and use the messenger (from member menu) on any other page it will take you places you didn't know existed lol

Yeah it does what you said... it's a step closer though! :D
