Shoutbox and cyrillic

Dolphin 7.1.2 Shoutbox does not support cyrillic. What to do?

I have seen this question in other chat rooms. The answer that was given in those was that the chat was based on IRC (Internet Relay Chat - whatever that means), and that Cyrillic would not work without rewriting the chat room code. Dont know how true this is, but hope it helps.

And what should I do?
