Should we still use mod_deflate module with 7.0.3

Should we still use mod_deflate module with 7.0.3 ?

I had added these lines to my .htaccess file:

AddType application/vnd.adobe.air-application-installer-package+zip .air

AddType application/x-shockwave-flash .swf

AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/html

AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/plain

AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/xml

AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/css

AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/javascript

AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE application/x-javascript

AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE application/xml

AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE application/x-httpd-phpRewriteCond

Do I still need them?

Some servers do not support Gzip, so if your running on oen of those kind of servers (it seems a lot of Apache 2 servers only use deflate, since it's newer), you may want to keep it.

We have added gzip for two most critical files JS and CSS cache in Dolphin 7.0.3. But there are some other files which can be gzipped too, so it is better to keep this option on (mod_deflate or any other mod/setting which provide realtime content gzipping) for optimal performance.
