Setting up a test site

I'm thinking... once I have dolphin installed, I should be able to

1. Upload the module files that I've purchased/installed on my live site (about 7 minor ones) and modify any core files involved (there were only 2 I believe)

2. Copy and upload the db from the live site to the test site.

3. In phpMyAdmin change any relevant url's.

Questions!!

1. Would this be the correct procedure?

2. There should only be a few urls to change...?

For those that have done this, any advice?

Easiest way would be to simply copy over the site files to a sub-directory, make a new database and import the live site's SQL backup, then update the URL, path, and database settings in /inc/header.inc.php.

Also clear the /cache, /cache_public, and /tmp directories, except for the .htaccess files.
