Server Down

Yesterday the server was sending high amount of spam via script installed to root.  According to my host provider password was compromised by some people from Russia and Germany.

3 to 4 hours ago I guess the server is completely down now.

Yes we changed all password yesterday and delete the script installed to the root.

My server has been attack a lot lately about twice a month. Am I the only one? or that's the way it always be?

could not connect to vivestar.com

Thanks! :(

Luckely I have not had that problem. Have you checked your own pc for virusses, etc?

I have been hacked Once (knock on wood) since I got my first server through my provider. And the one time I was hacked, they sent me an email saying what happened, that they were applying backups, and that they fixed the issue so it would noat happen again.

I would start looking at server or hosting provider if being hacked is a consistent thing.

I don't have any virus on my workstation desktop just replace it 11 days ago. My first host provider the server was never down.  But since I move the server to hostforweb the server hack twice monthly sometime more than 5 time a month. and receive this type of email from hostforweb 3 to 6 time monthly.

That seems more then a coincidence. It could well be that their hosting configuration in combination with the requirements for Dolphin create vulnerabilities.

HostforWebs has a bad reputation when it comes to Dolphin sites.

Attacks are going to TRY and get in no matter where you host but no, it's not normal for them to succeed. My sites were all hacked when I was with hostforweb too and malware was installed.
