Seeking different Social Sharing option...

1st- Apologies for mentioning Fakesbook here...

OK- Anyone else here with Video Zone notice that when you share a video to fakesbook it can be played there...

Seems there's two schools of thought- Since it's played there people aren't going to make back to your site- I call BS There.

If they like it, they see your URL and will come to find more...

The other school of thought- If a video isn't played there then when they click the link it brings them to your site where the video is.

I think more people have come to prefer playing the videos there over being redirected or linked to another site... IDK

Anywhere else on my site (Even if it's an embedded YouTube) when I use social sharing buttons, the video cannot be played elsewhere....people get a link....and many times- They don't even get an image...They just see the name of the video and description and such....

Does ANYONE know what this difference is between Video Zone Social Sharing  and Standard Dolphin Social Sharing???

Has anyone modified how their Standard Dolphin Social Sharing works?

Have you looked in the database at the entry "sys_shared_sites"

 You will never be able to make a video from a Dolphin site play on Facebook.

 I'll check out what you recommended and see what I find....

As for not being able to make a video from a Dolphin site play on Facebook...Is it an API thing?

I'm just trying to better understand....Because Videos Posted in my Video Zone Section actually DO play on Facebook....When people on Facebook click the Video it plays right there, and if they click on the name of the video, it brings them to my site....and it also shows my site's URL under the description of the video.

Yet other videos elsewhere on my site which we posted from YouTube are not shared the same way apparently, and won't play on Facebook.....

Most of the videos posted on my site are likely to be member's YouTube videos....SO I'd like our sharing to Facebook be the same across the entire site as it is with our Video Zone Module so that most will be playable there.

But I do understand that your saying videos uploaded to our site from a member's computer and resides only on our server won't ever be able to be played there.....I don't know WHY exactly.

I understand the frustrations... look at this too. It's another option.

 Your welcome. Also you mentioned you wanted the videos to be "seen" on facebook.

IMO, it's best you have them visit your site, therefore increasing your www presence and having "backlinks" to your site is very important.
