Search engines indexing links- uni & alt templates

Hi all

We have a big problem where our links in Google etc are indexing links to the uni and alt templates (we have never used these templates ever) and if someone clicks these links it changes the template and you can't get back to the main one. This is a big big problem if you ask me.

i know you can get back to main template by using ?skin=xxxxxx but this does not help our members who click on the links.

i have made a robots.txt and added:

User-agent: *

Disallow: /templates/tmpl_alt/

Disallow: /templates/tmpl_uni/

will this work i dont know !

any ideas/fixes appreciated.

Use google.com/webmasters for complete control over this...

Blocked URLs

If your site has content you don't want Google or other search engines to access, use a robots.txt file to specify how search engines should crawl your site's content.

Check to see that your robots.txt is working as expected. (Any changes you make to the robots.txt content below will not be saved.)

Remove URLs

Use robots.txt to specify how search engines should crawl your site, or request removal of URLs from Google's search results ( have you read our removal requirements? ). Only site owners and users with full permissions can request removals.
