SITE IS HAVING PROBLEMS WHEN UPGRADED.

Hi I just updated my site today from 7.0.2 to 7.0.3 and a few problems occurred.  Such as the tittle of the site is now www.sketchtron.com when it should be SketchTron-Home. also previews for news articles and articles are gone, the actual post is still there, there is just no preview for them.

Did you have any 3rd party module installed for your Articles (such as Ultimate Articles as an example). If so, you may need to check the files that were updated and see if you may need to re-apply any code changes.

Go into your Admin Panel> Settings> Basic Settings and see what the Site Title says. If you need to, change it there.

Do you have an SEO module installed or anything where you can over-ride page titles?

You can check the settings table in the database to make sure that doesn't use URL instead of name and also check design.inc.php file to make sure this reads the name and not URL.

Just wondering, Have you tried clearing your /cache (except for the .htaccess file) and /cache_public directories using an FTP client?

see i did that but i may have accidentally deleted the .htaccess too.

Oh.. thats a problem see.. That HAS to be there.. If you do not have a backup copy of it somewhere.. do this:

- Open Notepad

- Type in just this :

deny from all

Click File, Save As, change the file type to 'All Files' and name the file .htaccess

Use a FTP client to re-upload that file into the /cache directory and try again.

ok i did that and the title didnt change.

OK.. one last thing I can think of off the bat.. Try removing the dash from the Title.

Change from this:

SketchTron-Home

To this:

SketchTron

Since this is the actual name of your site.. May need to clear the cache again. Dont delete the .htaccess file this time :)

If that works, then you can change it to this 'SketchTron Home' (without the quotes or the dash)
