SETTING DEFAULT LANGUAGE DOSN`T WORK

Hope I`m not a "bad" guy doing this but this really need to be fixed, if you want to set another language as default language on the website it dosn`t work.

Please someone add a ticket !!

It may not work for a different reason..

Not creating a ticket for something that cannot be verified as a bug. Just because its not working for you doesnt mean it will not work at all.

Why not tell us what you have done and how you are trying to set it as the default so that we will have more information on the issue.

Hello, Zarcon

Thanks for having a look on this, I have created a new language going to:

Settings > Languages Settings then clicked on Add to add a new language:

I`ve set the tile to: language-name

Code: ro

Flag: chosed my country flag

Copy from: chosed to copy from english language

I`ve translated almost 90% of my language file using: Manage Keys

Then up on "Default site language:" I`ve chosed my new language file

And nothing.. going on website as guest even tested from other computers, when the website opens it is using english language and not the one I`ve set.

Regards

Try clearing your /cache (except the .htaccess file) and /cache_public directories via an FTP client. You may also want to check and see if DB cache is enabled in the Admin Panel> Settings>Advanced Settings>Other, if so uncheck that and try again.

I think its automatic... i have Spanish as default... but most computers have English internet explorer and they ended up looking the site in english! FIXING this would be great! - there are many noobs surfing the web that dont know that a world icon may give them the chance to change the language.
