Remove top banner from home page

Hi, I was going to run google adsence in the top banner. The only thing is that I don't want it on the home page. Google frowns at that if the ad is in view of top on home page from what I have heard. Someone correct me if It is different. Anyway I would still like to sell that spot on the home page and run google on the rest at the top. Is there a way to get the banners to not show in the top of the home page?
