How do I remove BoonEx News Feed and Featured Modules from ADMIN Dashboard. Thanks.

You can hide the news feed by navigating to administration > settings > advanced settings > other and changing the value for "Show boonex news in admin panel" to -1.

Thanks this work for me but how can we remove the Featured Module and also the boonex Logo and link from footer in admin. As i already have bought the unlimited license.

there are in fact several feeds pushed through the admin panel

language file news

featured modules

recommended hosting

template feed

for something that is supposed to be unbranded, there is heavy branding on the dolphin admin panel as well as throughout the site itself. i seen absolutely no reason for boonex's name to appear on the admin panel as many times as it does. the associated files are scattered throughout the platform which makes it excessively difficult to remove any part of the branding. not impossible, but difficult. there are language keys that are created, these language keys are called into the files, there are database entries, these dbase entries are called into the site. there are css files, php file, html files with obscure numberings so as to not reveal what they actually pertain to.

now what i find interesting is this file count on dolphin i wont post it here because it is extensive but something notable is 331 .css files but the style is not just in those .css files. there is style buried in language keys as well, and tucked away in php files and in html files. makes it quite the challenge to locate everything. firebug does a decent job, but its still work.

SSH code to count files with the same extension

find . -type f -print|awk '{print match($0,/\.[^/]*$/)?substr($0,RSTART,RLENGTH):"No Ext"}'|sort|uniq -c

This is one of the concerns we have for our corporate site. We have a Prime account and do not want to have any boonex logos or brands on our pages.

I can see that it is going to take extensive customization to eliminate the boonex footprint.

And the number of .css files is OMG! We have to change ALL OF THAT?

Anyone come up with a way to remove the "Feature Modules" and also the "Recommended Hosting" ?

Quote · 12 Jan 2011

i believe once we paid for a unlimited dolphin licence, we should be allowed to delete all the boonex related files as pointed by

so we can remove boonex news, recommended hosting, template feed in the admin panel.

hello

I do it changes css style. To administration/templates/base/css/general.css  I add :

.loading_rss {
display:none;
}
.rss_read_more_link {
display:none;
}

and I have only grey box, no rss texts and links

And about "hosting promo" you have in administration/templates file hosting_promo.html. You must delete all code from him and save completely empty.

I'm sorry SashaE, its only temporary solution.

When version 7.05 will be ready, I return to orginal configuration and turn off this boxes in options.

In my project I need this solution immediately.

If you feel adventurous, you can apply the fix now (after making a backup, of course).

do the the following changes to remove them .

administration/index.php removing the featured rss (lines 102 -107) //DesignBoxAdmin (_t('_adm_box_cpt_featured_modules'), '
// <div class="RSSAggrCont" rssid="boonex_unity_market_featured" rssnum="5" member="0">
// <div class="loading_rss">
// <img src="' . getTemplateImage('loading.gif') . '" alt="' . _t('_loading ...') . '" />
// </div>
// </div>');
administration/lang_file.php removing lines (174-178) <div class="RSSAggrCont" rssid="boonex_unity_lang_files" rssnum="5" member="0">
<div class="loading_rss">
<img src="' . getTemplateImage('loading.gif') . '" alt="' . _t('_loading ...') . '" />
</div>
</div>
in language keys search _adm_box_cpt_lang_files and remove boonex
administration/host_tools.php remove lines (48) . adm_hosting_promo()

administration/advanced_settings.php remove or comment the line50   define('BX_PROMO_CODE', adm_hosting_promo());

that is all...

boonex let me know if this is not adhering to the license policy.

It adheres, but there is already a fix in the repo that allows you to do this with a check box in advanced settings.

But if their is any way wherein a little change in the code then let us know here so that we do it

Since we do not know whether we would upgrade to D7.0.5

since our site we have made a lot of changes and mods also have been used ...

The last change requires queries in your database, which you should be careful about.

Without question this is correct and I have a new version of 7.0.5 loaded and after un-checking the possible selection I have attached a photo of the admin section am I missing something here?  I cleared cache as well............Of Course this is just the first page.....................

It should be as simple as a check box that say's Dolphin Branded  or Non Branded..................

The dolphin brand is scattered throughout the site............not a problem until you pay to have it be nonbranded......................

I mean really the time and effort it takes to learn the 1,000 or really 5,000 plus iteration of what Dolphin is in fact a daunting task!  The posts by DosDawg are spot on and gives that feel that Dolphin is being quite clever to let's say parse out their brand throughout the site!  It is clever on the front side but quite annoying on the backside of implementation.

A person should be able to go off in their direction of their idea and not have to worry that the DOLPHIN brand will allow that idea that in some cases could be years in the making taken away by another through a simple slip of missing that Dolphin Brand!

That is a stretch UNTIL it is a success which is what we are all after!!

Is this setup to be a scheme of spreading the word which in my mind demeans the unthinkable power of Dolphin or is this a way to spread your word through parsed out clues to find the platform, or is it I buy it and I can sleep at night knowing that what I have dreamed about is protected BC I paid for the licence(s) to do so?  It appears you have taken baby steps to understand this in the new release but I hope my last post or picture is simply an adjustment?  BC if it is not then it appears to be a cleaver way to spread your brand........

Anyone please address this as it is very important and perhaps a screen shot of what it should look like after the new 7.0.5 adjustments have been completed.........
