I just happened to notice that my recommend block is not showing for things like photos, videos, and files but it does show for groups, blogs, and sounds. I checked the page builders and the recommend block is on the 'photos view photo', 'videos view video', etc..
Any ideas?

try to add another block to see if it works..recommend 2 block enter the html code and clear cache "Your future is created by what you do today, not tomorrow." @ www.dexpertz.net |
There is no HTML code for this. I am referring to the default 'Recommend' box that comes with Dolphin. If you click the box in the builder it will tell you it's a 'special' block. Checking the sys_page_compose table, the entries are there for the pages.
Trying to compare them to the ones that are working, there seems to be no difference.

Nevermind, I have decided to put AddThis blocks on all of my pages instead. Seems like the default recommend block was not sharing very well anyway.
BTW, when you are creating these buttons, you have the option to remove the tracking link at the end. Just look at the option on the left right under the button choices.

Yeah it is better than default dolphin recommend button. "Your future is created by what you do today, not tomorrow." @ www.dexpertz.net |
I figured out what the issue was with the recommend block was.... Seems it will not display on photos that are in albums with a privacy level OTHER THAN public.
So, I guess your photo albums have to be set to 'Public' in order to have a recommend block.. ugh..

I found that out too, but the addthis can still be put in via the database to show in the block, therefore keeping the members privacy expectations up.

Correct. I kept AddThis in place and removed the recommend block itself. I guess I should have just overwrote the sys_objects_social_sharing instead of adding individual blocks.. haha Oh well.

Yes, this keeps the privacy in force.
