ME: I was wondering if I need a new RMS port and RMS HTTP port or should I keep the default RMS port and HTTP port unchanged?
TMD: Hello,
Thank you for the update.
The default ports are active and you should use them on your Dolphin installation. Also, I would suggest that you review our excellent article on how to configure your Dolphin website with RMS. It is available here:

Please feel free to contact us regarding any further questions or comments.

Me: I followed the instruction and it seems to work. I do not get the can not connect to the RMS error flag but I do get a new error flag. When I try to do a video comment, I get an error processing file error flag. Help. I have the latest version of Dolphin.
TMD: Hello,
It seems that the issue is related to a coding error in the RMS RED5 release available on the Boonex website. We have conducted lots of tests but unfortunately none of those resulted into a fully functional RMS service.
The current version of our production RMS service the one released before 7.1.0. We had upgraded to 7.1.0 but this versions also has errors in it and will not allow the video comments to function. The issue with the latest version is that it will not work with both Boonex Dolphin 7.0.x and 7.1.x chat application. The current version allows you to use the video chat module without issues which is the reason we have preserved that one.
It seems that the video comments upload issue is related to the RED5 release used in the RMS media service package available for download on the Boonex website. The error generated during the video conversion:
[NioProcessor-2] WARN o.r.s.n.r.codec.RTMPProtocolDecoder - Unknown object type: 2 [NioProcessor-2] ERROR o.r.s.n.r.codec.RTMPProtocolDecoder - Error decoding buffer org.red5.server.net.protocol.ProtocolException: Error during decoding
As it seems there is a patch available for this issue here:
https://code.google.com/p/red5/issues/attachmentText?id=108&aid=1080004000&name=RTMPdecoding.diff&token=zA54dlaxIVycZsPGZdO0IqQ7Hvs%3A1390299002564
We will keep checking the RMS service release available on Boonex and as soon as a patched RMS is released we will apply the patch immediately. Unfortunately as of right now there is no patch available to resolve this issue. If you would like to receive information when new RMS version will be released you may need to check with Boonex. We are not part of the Boonex development team and unfortunately we do not have information on when patches on the main application or/and the RMS will be released. However we will keep monitoring the RMS releases and as soon as a fully functional one is available we will replace our RMS service with the new version.
Let us know if we may assist you further considering the above.

Me: I was wondering if the patch mentioned above been applied or do I need to apply it? Will the patch correct the issue? I am also experiencing the same problem with video recording and not just the video comment. So basically the only video capability I have with this latest version of Dolphin is the chat video chat module? Is there any dolphin version that video comment, video recording and video chat module work?
TMD: Hello,
The patch in question should be applied on the RMS service package and it is compiled by Boonex. The patch has not been applied yet on latest release of the RMS available for download on the official website of the application. We are checking the release branches of the RMS and as soon as new version is available we will test it and as long as there is no issue with it will apply it on our RMS server.
The video comments are causing issues because of the reasons explained above. As for other video functions there are the video upload and live chat video functions which are working. Basically because of the RMS issue in question the live video recording function will not run at this point.
Should you have any further questions or comments please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best regards,

Let Detective8 or Newton27 set you up with RMS on their servers. This way you will know if it is TMDHosting, which does not have that great of a reputation, or a problem with the RMS.
It is quick and easy and they will give you the address and port number without guessing at what your current port is set to.
If it resolves your issue, then give thanks to Newton or Detective and the two finger salute to TMD.
Geeks, making the world a better place |
Thanks. I will give that a try. |

I changed my port and it says can't connect to the server. |
Never mind. I changed the RMS address to yours as well to correct the error. Checking video capabilities now. Stay tuned. |
Well video comment recording worked and preview worked but with few issues.
1. sound comes on first during preview and then the video next.
2. When posting the video it took awhile to process and when it was done file could not be found.
Hmmm...
Don't know what to say.

I am trying Detectives help and I will keep you all posted. |

In your flash settings, try to make the encoding setting lower.
The slight delay is normal, you can here me talking here http://www.recoverstormtreasures.com/m/videos/view/Gladiator-ndash-Are-You-Not-Entertained in a video comment. Now if the delay is more try the adjustments and let me know.

Does the browser even come into play with recording video? The browser is a rendering device, not a recording device. A search on the net provided nothing. The browser is just acting as a control device, a push button if you like. Geeks, making the world a better place |

I would think, now I'm guessing, since this is a Rayz product, it is all done in java/flash.
The recording is sent to my RMS and encoded quickly, and then available for preview before post.
I would think Deano could explain how this process is handled.
I did a test and bumped up the comment time to two minutes and had no problems.
The server load is always about an average: 0.27, 0.16, 0.09
and I am hosting many, many sites on it.

Browsers would seem so, I've spent so much time figuring this out with no success so I posted about it in the trac: http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/ticket/3362

Hi,
getting Processing error too on my TMD hosted site (satisfied customer). Based on their comments it seems like I need to wait for Boonex.
Is there some hope that Boonex will update soon?

We will keep checking the RMS service release available on Boonex and as soon as a patched RED5 is released we will install it immediately. Unfortunately as of right now the RMS version available on Boonex is still not patched. If you would like to receive information when new RMS version will be released you may need to check with Boonex.

if those not on TMD can get RMS working without any hitches, then maybe it is something that TMD has setup wrong. Or maybe they are using an outdated copy of the RMS server instead of using the one that boonex supplies. Cause I have personally installed the RMS server on several servers, and only had an issue the first time. Who runs the server, TMD? And what patch are they referring to. I have never seen a patch talked about here in the forums. Why would you need to run a patch if they control the RMS server. These are just a few thoughts I had while reading these posts. caredesign.net |

I agree. They need to support 7.1.x version, I'm sure it's still the older version they have.

Hello Guys.
My name is Morgan Collins and I am part of the TMDHosting technical support team. I was reviewing the forum topics when I saw this one. I just wanted to let you know that actually the temporary issue with the RayMediaServer has been resolved. We have performed multiple tests with different versions of Dolphin, including the most commonly used ones - 7.1.4 and 7.0.9 and no issues were encountered.
I have personally contacted stargazer2426 on that matter via our ticketing system, but unfortunately I have not got a reply from him yet. If someone else would like to test our RMS service, please PM me with your domain and I will be glad to give you temp access to the server.
Best Regards
Morgan Collins

Good to see the host fixed it. I've never been able to get video comments to work on my Arvixe hosted sites. Gave up on it awhile ago figuring it just wasn't possible on shared hosting. |
I've tested it on TMD hosting and it seems to work great. Thanks! 7.1 My favorite number |
