Protection for Teens

OK, I am looking for ideas with this please ...

I have a site where teens and adults mix and share different features (both have individual chat rooms that are moderated so no mixing as far as that) etc...

I am looking for ideas / methods I could use / adopt apart from users using the obvious privacy settings ... >> how can prevent teens from being contacted by adult members ?!

I am using ways like friendly notes stating that adults contacting teens they do not know personally is inappropriate and not responsible actions BUT there must be better ways ....

All sensible ideas welcomed please ?

I also have a site where young and old mix. I don't stop adults contacting teens but have a verified membership and only verified members have the option to start private conversations and use the webcam.

This is quite an operation because people have to fill out a form with their details and receive a phone call and letter with a unique code before being verified. Never the less, people understand why we do this and I have more than 1,000 verified members registered.

If I'm not mistaken, there are also some modules in the market that deal with these sorts of issues.

You could create a special membership for members under a certain age, then possibly restrict certain actions of that membership. I also remember a mod that monitors all private messages for certain keywords to spy on members. Could easily be used to ensure safety of teens.

The site I'm developing will allow for minors, as well and the chat rooms were a major area of concern.  I verified with the company I'm planning on purchasing from that they would completely disable the option of private chat rooms.  I have their assurance (via email) that they not only would do that, but with no additional charge.
