Promo block disappeared !!!!

On one fine morning when i opened my site i found that the promo block has been disappeared... I tried clearig cache and cookies but it didnt work...

I didnt make any changes prior to this.... plz help.

Did you make changes in \templates\base\page_1.html?
That file must contain this key: __promo_code__

i checked it... it's there

i didnt make any chages. it happened all of a sudden.

maybe some of your module make redefinition that file.......

Happened to me too when trying to use HTML cache (Dolphin 7.0.1 - 7.0.3).

Disabling HTML cache made this Leaders block to re-appear...

Its nt workin :(

Did you try to move this item within your Page Blocks Builder ? For example to move it from the left column to the right column (or vice-versa) ?

no. I guess we cant move promo blocks in page builders....

Cookies are browser side. So i am wondering if the cache you cleared is also the browser cache.

Clear the dolphin cache from the admin dashboard. Clear all.

If that does not work. The try shutting off all caching options.

Admin->Settings->Advanced Settings

Depending on your dolphin version there may be cache options under both Other and Templates.

Deactivated all caching options in admin.... cleared cache files ia deano tools.. still missing promo block :(

I guess that some of your custom modules have redefinition the page_1.html

I replaced the templates/base directory

still its there.... last thing i did ws created 2 pages for heyzap games but they are nt working... may b somhow this affectedpromo block.. How can i delete those pages? there must b some way in DB atleast

Make a search of page_1.html in all your installed modules. And remove all founded!

yes that site...

and the last thing I added was the twitter widget, promo ran for few days then has stopped..

even changed the images. Today I guess I will remove the twitter block and see..

and b4 others say its the facebook template, this site has been up for a year running the same template with no problems..changing back to UNI template has no effect.

two different versions; are you using any "live" widgets on your index or HomePage?

My site is not much customised. no live widgets.

at last I got it.... its the 'recently added sites' block on homepage.......

Wen i add it, promo block goes away but as i removes this block, promo appears....

Now the question is that y is it happenin... do other ppl too face this prob???

Why would we have to create a support ticket when clearly this has happened on two totally different sites with two different versions of Dolphin .3 and .4?

We clearly stated that when the "Recently Added Sites" block is added to the "Homepage" the promo block STOPS working. Remove the block and the promo works again..

This is a bug in the software, and not our doing, why should we have to pay for someone to answer this question in the support section.

Have you tried to duplicate this problem?

I just upgraded a couple of days ago and everything went so well I couldn't believe it when my Promo Block disappeared last night. I'm soo glad I found this post.  Do you know if there is a fix for this yet?

This is something else that just gets ignored..

as well as media timings(i.e. video length in minutes..) not working for media longer than 59:59

This temporary fix worked for me too.  Wow.  Now I'm pondering if I should spend hours on top of hours trying to "really" fix this or should I just submit a ticket and hope that it gets addressed. Hmmmm.

boonex.us doesn't have this problem but still lots of other sites have. Still tryin to figure it out. :(

guys, i think its become a standard that if there is a bug identified, that it be submitted. i have an issue with polls tracking, and was instructed the same, to submit a ticket. at first i was upset about the idea, because as you mention Newton, why should we pay to report bugs that are identified.

what the guys will do is a fresh install of your version, and based on the information you provide, will see if the problem is replicated. if the problem is replicated based on how it was occurring to you on your site and your sites version, they will enter this issue into trac so that it can be fixed.

you guys all know that there is no way that boonex could test every different aspect of what a user may try to do on their specific site, and this seems to be one of those instances where this method was not tested.

sure it can be a bug, and i have faith in the boonex team to fix it.

Ok, I decided to not submit and ticket to see how quickly I could find a slightly better solution than just removing the site block from the page.  After digging deeper, I began to suspect that a condition must be "off" or missing somewhere.  This missing or misconfigured element was apparently causing Dolphin to load the wrong template file when the Files Block was placed on the homepage.

After thinking it over, this is what I did.  I went to where the promo block lives in the template.  FYI, on a non-custom template, it lives in templates/base/page_1.html at the top of the page.  The language key  in question looks like this:

After suspecting that this key wasn't loading, I then suspected that the template (page_1.html) wasn't even being loaded from this location.  The template that I knew was being loaded when you placed the Sites block back on the homepage was the modules/boonex/sites/templates/base/page_1.html template.  I copied the promo code language key into the file at that location and voila, everything appeared correctly.  This is what my code now looks like on the page modules/boonex/sites/templates/base/page_1.html

Of course, this isn't "supposed" to function like this but I just can't take 10 hours out of my day looking for a needle in a haystack....probably a bracket out of place or a "case:" missing.....I'm sure it's an honest mistake, but can someone at Boonex please go in and fix this the correct way.

In my another 7.0.5 fresh install that is no such file in 'site' module's base template folder..... So i guess deleting the page_1.html could also solve the problem.
