Profile timeline/wall and friends activity

I've not really been a user of the profile wall / timeline so far, but am interested in its features for a new site build.

Can anyone clarify for the default profile timeline (not EVO wall which is another option)

Does the timeline on profile or account page only show info that the profile owner posts, plus anything others post directly to that timeline.... 

OR - is there a way to get it to show activity of the profile owners friends also...

Either by settup, or by changing the code.

 yes, but this just adds (in a great way) further features to the existing timeline as in your profile timeline  - will still only show your activity, and other activity posted directly to that timeline. It doesnt show activity of your friends list...

Im looking for a way to get friends activity to show on your profile timeline (either profile or account) same way it does on facebook. Otherwise, how do users follow their friends activity on mass without having to check all the individual profile / timelines of friends...

The evowall shows everything your friends do on account and your own activity on your profile page. Exactly like FB... Or what do you mean?

 really? ok... I asked the developer of it if this was the case and he said it doesn't! Said it only shows activity that is posted directly the the wall, not automatically shows friends activity.

a little odd... in profile page there is your own timeline, and also the option for 'friends timeline', this is also in your account page.

However, the 'friends timeline' in account page does show friends activity, yet the one in profile page isnt showing anything!

Have made new test accounts, linked up as 'friends', added content and results are as above. 

this is the default dolphin timeline, not evo wall.

You can also add the timeline block to the home page and will show all site wall postings.

It sure looks like it has a lot of the same features that Fbook timeline/wall consists of currently.
