Profile data from select lists

Hi Guys

I have looked without much success for info in the forums on how to use dropdown select lists for many of the Profile fields (Height, Weight,Religion etc) similar to Country & Relationship Status - Can someone point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Skeeta

check out the Country field in the Profile Fields Builder section. From here you can see how to set up the field. Then, create a new list in Builders - Predefined Values

Well I must be doing something wrong because it doesn't work for me. I've read the Docs but still no luck.

I have tried to Link "Height" to both the existing "Height" predefined list AND a new list "MyHeight" created for testing.

Here's what I did after creating a "MyHeight" List with 2 Entries both with Value and LKey set.

Admin -> Builders -> Profile Fields -> Edit Profile -> Height

Changed Type to "Selector"

Changed "Possible Values" to "#Height" and "#MyHeight" (at different times for testing)

Default Value WILL NOT accept any input (neither Value nor LKey)- ends up with error symbol and "You entered an incorrect value". So I saved it without a default value.

When Editing Profile, the Height dropdown box contains either "#Height" or "#MyHeight" with no selection list options.

Have I missed something?

As mentioned by ProfessorSr, The actual selection list must be created by going to Admin => Builders => Predefined Values. The Edit Profile section will only contain the reference to the list ("#Height" or "#MyHeight").

As I said, I created a predefined values list "MyHeight" and there is an existing default list "Height".

As far as I can tell, I've done everything correctly - just doesn't work!

i could be wrong as i am not looking at a site right now - but shouldnt it be #!Height or #!MyHeight

EDIT: - I just checked mine - I added a state dropdown, and it would be #!Height in your case. Add the ! and you should be good to go
