Problems with Video and Video comment after D7.0.3

After D7.0.3 update I am getting few problems with Video and Video comments.

1) When I upload video it is not getting processed. it is in the Not processed video. Cron Jobs are setup and working as I see cron email for the video comments. Any suggestion why the video is not processing.

2) Video comments not processing completely. I recorded a comment and posted. I can see 4 below files created.

/flash/modules/video_comments/files/4_small.jpg
/flash/modules/video_comments/files/4.m4v
/flash/modules/video_comments/files/4.jpg
/flash/modules/video_comments/files/4.flv
After the cron Job run I see in cron email as below. Cron job is looking for a file as 4(no extension) but that file is not present. Any idea??

What type of server are you on?

How did you update to .3   Was it a patch or fresh install?

I have an patch and fresh install and both video commenting has been improved better!

The quality is better than I ever anticipated.

You can see a demo of a profile comment video made few minutes ago, took about two minutes to encode the 30 second video.

Cron Jobs are setup and working as I see cron email for the video comments. Any suggestion why the video is not processing.

I tried to run manually the cron job but still not processing the Video.

I feel for you my friend.. Im having the same issue with a fresh clean install and have yet to find an answer myself for it.. if I dont get any help with this soon Im gonna try to step back to either 7.02 or 7.01.. at least the media uploading and auto aproving feature worked on those versions without having to go digging through the script to find out where to enable it. I hope you do get an answer that works for you on this.. I sure havent so far.

IM not running a php.ini file in the root directory of my Dolphin script.. Im also not running with Ray media server as I dont need the webcam and cam chat features, I've run the script this way on the older versions of 7 and never had this issue untill this version.. I do have a php.ini I can upload if I need it.. its just basic.. but I've never needed it.. Im on a shared server that meets all the needs of the features that I have always used with the dolphin script and in the admin host tools everything is green on the host perm and permissions..  The php.ini file I have that I can put in the script root directory if needed is as follows:

register_globals = off
allow_url_fopen = On
upload_max_filesize = 100M
post_max_size = 100M
output_buffering = on
max_execution_time = 1000
max_input_time = 1000
memory_limit = 64M

Anyways I dont understand why every version of 7 from the beta through 7.02 never had this problem on my exsisting host config, with getting stuck at processing video and 7.03 does. What was changed that much to cause it?

post your php.ini settings

my mistake.. lol

I meant your php infoformation.. under Admin>Tools>Host Tools> Phpinfo tab, perhaps a screen shot of your ffmpeg module on the server.

So are we saying the newest version 7.03 needs a new version of ffmpeg?  Dolphin 7.01 qnd 7.02 didnt seem to have a problem running on the version of ffmpeg that my host is using..  If dolphin changed the requirments for 7.03 and above I haven't seen anything letting us know.. Since Im on a shared server I doubt very much that the host company is gonna change it  just for me.. and going to a new hosting company right now just isn't an option.. It sure would be nice if Boonex would give us a heads up on requirment changes for upcoming versions at least a little in advanced so we can prepare for it.. So if there is no workaround for it then as I have said before.. guess its back to an older version for me for now..

I think your not understanding...

you have two ffmpeg's one on Dolphin and one on server.. the included photo from my other post is of my "server" settings as well as yours..

your server is using an older version..

Nothing is wrong with the Dolphin ffmpeg.exe, this is not the same thing

No I did understand that, I know that you were talking about the server side version.. what I was saying is that the previous versions of 7 I ran on the same server using the same server version of ffmpeg ran just fine.. from 7 beta to 7.02 all ran video with no issues on the same servers,  that is why I dont understand where the change in 7.03 is. What was changed in 7.03 that would cause the video to hang at processing video if the previous versions of 7 didint.. and they were running on the current version of ffmpeg that is on the severs Im on with no problem. wouldn't that indicate there was a change in the script from 7.02 to 7.03 that is causing the video to get stuck at processing video? If it is a issue with the ffmpeg server version, why wouldn't 7.01 or 7.02 have the same issue with processing video.. What Im saying is, I didnt have this issue until I went to the 7.03 version of Dolphin.. And this is even with a clean install and a newly created database.

Change the ffmpeg.exe of the version 7.0.3 to the one of previous version ... that's work for me :)

Quote · 29 Oct 2010

I don't understand why you guys are having such trouble. I installed 7.03 on my server with the new ffmpeg and it works flawlessly.

You guys do understand that the conversion process for H264 takes a lot longer now. A 40 meg video can take 20 to 30 min to process. Maybe you are just getting impatient?
