Problem with upgrade - 7.0.2 to 7.0.3

Hi, I am trying to get an older 7.0.2 site upgraded and have run into trouble.  Got through the upgrade procedure and ran the upgrade script without problems, but when I go to the second step on the instructions (after clearing the cache) "Recompile language files for all modules from admin panel -> Tools -> Modules" - nothing will come up - just a blank page.  The site is also down.  Anyone know what I might have done wrong?

p.s.  It is a "cloned" site.  My hosting company moved it to a different domain for me- not sure if that could have anything to do with it - it seemed to work fine before the upgrade.

Any ideas at all?  I get an "internal server error" message when I try to go to the site now.  If it helps, the site is american-startups.com - cloned from an earlier site I did.   Everything seemed to work before the upgrade.

Did you delete  /upgrade/.htaccess file?

I'm trying to do the same thing too. The Dolphin sites will not work, get 500 internal server error even for a profile link. i.e. mysite.com/admin

Have other sites like Small Machine Forums on same server, and the tranfer works, even for my phparcade..

None of the D site's though, all databases were cloned and worked for the other none dolphin sites..

@rhimpr - I sure did - I follow the instructions like a cookbook - however, something went wrong the first time I uploaded the files and the .htaccess file was not there, so I repeated the process, then deleted it.  What does that do anyway?  If you delete before you run the upgrade script?  I have never gotten that.

@Newton - interesting.  Why would a cloned site upgrade any differently than a normal site?  Someone must know.

The good news is I have everything backed up - database and all files.   I basically want to just get up to 7.0.5 with the same site I had before - only about a dozen users but that is much easier than starting from scratch.   Maybe a fresh install of 7.0.5 then modify from there?  Problem is, it was a "full structure and content" backup of the database, not the individual tables, so could be a real mess.

Any ideas on how to recover from this would be appreciated.

Any advice on how to proceed with this?   Since I have my files and database backed up, I could get my old 7.02 site back I think, but if I can't upgrade what good would that do?   Would it be possible to to a fresh 7.0.5 install and try to recover my old site from there?   Again, since I did a "full structure and content" backup on the earlier version it seems it would mess things up by restoring that database.

Does anyone have any theories on why a cloned site won't upgrade?   Any ideas at all on how to get back on track with this?
