Hello,
I have some problem with the French leading provider of internet. (orange.fr, aol.com, sfr, laposte.net ...) If a member registers with one of these addresses, he receives no mail address (registration confirmation) and I get an email like what he did could be issued.
What can I do, because this number is growing and I would like my members receive information on the site on which they are properly registered.
Thank you in advance! |
Put a message that mail may have been sent to spam folder. Most times the message is in there caredesign.net |

Have you tried to register a test user with an email address from any other service like gmail? Does it works?
aol.com and many other are usually used by spambots which uses incorrect email addresses like hgsei532@aol.com so you'll be getting errors that he didn't get his confirmation.

Hello,
ProFessorSr, there is nothing in spam since I get an email "Mail Delivery System - Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender"
Boonexpert, so services like gmail work very well. There is nothing I can do to make orange.fr addresses aol .... work? Or I put them unavailable for registration?
Thank you |
Sometime you have to go to that email provider and look for something to be added to their whitelist or something like that. Guynuked -- Dedicated server and Dolphin-friendly hosting with Zarconia.net |
Mail Delivery System - Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender
That is not enough information. There has to be more. A reason as to exactly why it was not delivered.
Most likely your mail server ended up in their spam system and they are blocking you.

Then I would advise to to split join form on two forms: this way you'll get rid of some automatic spammers.
Most spammers use wrong emails on aol, hotmail, mail.com and other servers. If you've tested it with gmail and it works, I only can suggest that those emails with "delivery failed" are simply spammers. I have about 60 thousand of them on my site with "failed emails":

Which is suppose to the be purpose of confirmation emails, using fake emails will not let them on the site; if you have the unconfirmed fixes in place. Dolphin has a bug with the unconfirmed accounts that let them roam the site; I have the unconfirmed block on my site. If they don't confirm within a reasonable time, I delete the accounts. If they log onto the site, they are told their email is unconfirmed and to confirm. Geeks, making the world a better place |

I use Deans - Delete Unconfirmed Members - It purges every thing about the member after so many days (I use 1 day - I just wish it was in hours) if the member does not confirm the confirmation email they receive, they are purged (Yes!! they gone lock, stock and barrell). Its a must have module better then any Captcha, join questions, split pages, etc. (just sit back and watch them come and go) and all for $5.

Just a sidenote. There are a lot of spammers that WILL confirm their email addresses. I did a test a few months ago and 437 spammers confirmed their emails. caredesign.net |

Yes, the real human sitting in front of a computer in a room are now having email addresses they can confirm from. I am seeing that as well. My spamming has slowed down a bit.

I think it's pretty possible to write a script to parse and open links from emails... Especially if you know a couple most-used target CMS structures.

Hello everyone, and thank you for your answers
I had a lot of spammers before but since I block "Sohu, 126, 21cn ..." no worries on that side.
Those who register with orange.fr or laposte.net addresses are not sapmmeurs, but real users, that is why it bothers me. They come to my chat I talk to them, they are not spammers.
I'll go and look at the email provider like suggest Guynuked
again thank you |
