Privacy settings for IM not working

Hiya

Since the upgrade from 702 to 703, the privacy settings for the simple messenger seem to not be be working anymore. Any suggestions?

I was able to recreate it on your site.

I created 2 different profiles, one called Prof and the other Esize.

I set Esize's privacy setting for the simple messenger to Friends and the Prof account was still able to IM the Esize account.

So I then changed the simple messenger privacy setting for the Esize account  to Me Only and the Prof account was still able to IM the Esize account.

Try it out for yourself. I am quite sure this is a bug.

What the hell does it take to get a response from Boonex on this one? It  happens to be quite an important issue or does Boonex not take the users' right to privacy at all seriously?

This is the second time I have posted this problem. The first was a few months ago and the problem has never been addressed.

Would it help if I threw in a few swear words? People always seem to get a response when they do that.

Hello I have checked our site (boonex.com) and I can't find any troubles with simple messenger's privacy. Please see attached images

Just tried it out on Boonex.us and it doesn't work there either so it must be a bug and is very important that it receives the attention it deserves.

I confirm this problem on three sites... I have my profile set for "me only" on simple messenger and still get sIM's from members!

This is a major problem, for now I am removing the simple chat.. and going with another simple chat tool bar until this is addressed!

edit: the security and privacy of Dolphin has now become very apparent, .3 has so many issues, yea maybe it's faster.. so what, we need something stable.. I have back read some of the seasoned members complaints from a year ago, all those threads are like reading the same thing, maybe worse.

It's funny how you all talk about "going live" when....    "Almost there"... "see if this helps"...  whats the saying "just wait for the update"

I have also verified this as well. Not sure if this has something to do with boonex.com being a "fresh" install of D 7.0.3, but mine was an upgrade. So maybe its something dealing with only upgraded sites possibly

I have recently discovered another problem with this issue.

Not only do the privacy settings set to friends or me only not work, but there are some members that have it set so that all members can contact them but it won't let them and the message that should appear for the previously mentioned group is popping up for them.

I have logged into their profiles and checked the settings myself and they are set correctly.

This needs to be dealt with fast as by the sounds of it, it is causing quite a few people major problems.

Same here. Privacy settings do not block....

It might be an upgrade issue if prolaznik has a fresh install. Mine is definately an upgrade. How about everyone else?

I have been toying with the idea to do a fresh install and transfer everything over.

Mines an upgrade and if i have to do a fresh install and transfer everything for any reason, I'm throwing the towel in....LOL

Don't bother trying it. I created a new test site witha fresh install and transferred over the profiles only and still had the same problem. Though just to settle my curiousity, I'll try one more time but this time won't transfer anything from the old site. I will try creating some new profiles and see if they work.

Nope.......fresh install with new profiles made no difference. Could still us simple messenger despite having simple messenger privacy setting set to me only.

Thanks for testing it out.  There's always something...Fix a few things and others break....Someone help out here. Has there been a ticket created for this yet or a word or two from boonex?
