Pointless question

I have an idea. My site is also heavily modded..

What if I remove all my mods, then do the update?

I am using 7.01, if I overwrite my complete site with a fresh 7.01 after uninstalling and disabling my existing mods, then do the 7.02 upgrade, then install the 7.03 upgrade? Would I be better off?

Reinstalling the mods after that is all done will actually allow me to weed out the ones that I don't want and the ones that don't make the progression to 7.03. At the same time, I will be able to preserve all the data in my databases....

Thoughts?

oh BTW Mr Boonex, you still can't edit the title of a post.

in that case it would make more sense to just install 7.0.3 fresh and use/import  your old content (it's time consuming)

Yeah, but I would worry about the import process creating it's own issues and not being successful....

i have done it so far so good
only the forum i didn't save it needed some extra editing other than that it was just backing up tables and importing again + all the media files needed to be moved to the new site

just to play it safe install 03 in sub dir. and give it a try see how it goes
