 Hi, does anyone have a mod for a bulk upload of pictures in the style of Facebook? The current way to upload pics it's way to slow when it comes to more than a couple of pictures. It takes also way to much time having to insert one by one the mandatory fields of name an category. The mandatory fields should not longer be mandatory. Any suggestions or mods? Thanks, Alex

Im not aware of any 'bulk' load for photos except when using the Regular uploader, you have the option to click the green + sign to allow multiple uploads. The only field I know that is 'mandatory' is the name/title field which is automatically populated by the file name itself. Nothing to see here |
Yes, but thats what he's talking about. There should be a way to set a default name and description so when doing multiple uploads, you don't need to stop, check and add text and approve each picture. Wouldnt setting a default name cause database issue with 'file already exists'? I understand that maybe having a default description because I upload 150 pictures from a vacation, I normally have to copy and past a description like 'Bahamas Vacation 2010' in the descriptions.
But Im not sure how it would work if all the photos were 'named' the same thing.. such as 150 pictures named BahamaVacation.jpg (as an example). Also, not real sure about this, but if you want a custom name and description for Facebook photos, dont you have to manually type those too? Nothing to see here |
You could use "flash" upload and hold control down and select multiple photos at once and that will load multiple pictures with picture name as title and description, but most members if not all will not know it can be done. I do agree if you are selecting an album to upload pictures into, then the "album" should have description and each photo should not be mandatory to add description as the album has it and add description to each picture as an option.

I removed the mandatory description and titles as members seemed annoyed by it.
