Yesterday something happened to the permissions on my network... I haven't changed anything.. so I'm finding it to be really odd... anybody see anything like this before? Error's like the one below is showing up for images, but I found today that members also can't post replies to blogs, forums, or comments to walls.. help?:

I've checked everything from folder permissions, to membership levels, and everything looks ok, yet my members can't see any photos in the photo gallery, groups, or sites area.. can't post in the forums, can't post comments to those sections.. I don't get it.. I also haven't done anything in the past week other then approve items, so I can't figure out what could have caused this to happen and how to get it to stop happening..

Go to the following folder on your server.

plugins\htmlpurifier\standalone\HTMLPurifier\DefinitionCache\Serializer

In that folder you will see 4 other folders.

CSS
HTML
Test
URI

Make sure all of those folders are writable. Mode 777

Then go into each of those 4 folders and delete any files found in them.

Then empty your cache and try again.

Deano,

Any ideas on what could have caused this, so I can avoid it in the future?

Quote · 30 Dec 2010

No idea.

It has only happened to me when moving files to different servers or restoring backups.
