now if this helps somebody great, if not, well sorry for using the space...

i had default upload_max_filesize 2m

and post_max_sizxe was set to 8m dont know where that setting came from....

at any rate, increasing those two settings, i was able to upload.... using flash uploader and regular uploader on both IE and FF

just wondering why there was no error about the file being too large?

oh well mission accomplished.

not sure, but I think that the boonex script recognizes the info from default settings and not from php.ini.

well there are or can be two php.ini's one local and one global. i was referring to the global settings, so i corrected that issue and the audio's upload.

just wanted to post the error, since you would expect something mentioning filesize or something, not just a dead page.
