Outline Modification....

Ok, gonna try a different tack here. I have already expressed my opinions about the Outline and how all the content drops out causing the block to disappear.

I am respectfully requesting someone help me to either remove this feature or at least show me a way to dramatically extend the time before content disappears. My site does not create a lot of content quickly but the content that does get posted usually has more long term value and I want it to stay put until it's pushed out by newer content.

I don't see that this would be that difficult, even getting me started in the right direction would help.

Thanks

Cool

What is it that you need?
Can you give us more details please...

As long as the items don't get deleted or have a end date and stay public the outline will keep showing the items.

I looked around in the database and in the wall module. I couldn't find anything related to removal of content after a time period.

The only thing i can think of is maybe the spy module cron job is controlling the length of time it shows on the page ?

Is everything going away at the same time or just a few things after some days have passed ?

When stuff gets removed can you look in bx_wall_events to see if the table is getting cleaned out...

Again after a quick look in code i didn't see anything clearing that table but i didn't look very long either.

There's a time limit on the content. I think it's about a week, not sure. Each piece disappears and when all the content expires, the block (as any block with no content would do) just disappears leaving a gaping hole in the page.

Not true. The content does not go away but the outline stops displaying the content after a short period of time. I think the idea was to keep the content fresh but it's a bad idea because it causes the page layout to fail if new content is slow in coming.
