Orca forum and custom template?

OK I have read some where that when you build a custom template, you need to do something for the forum, e.g. edit the template for that too. Any ideas what needs to be done?

The forum needs a specific way to be customized, or it won't work properly.

It's something very hard to tell you here how to create a custom template for the Orca Forum,

What I can advice is just to take a free template from the market and see how it works, it will be a big help.

You will find many templates for free in the market.

For example go here:

http://www.boonex.com/unity/aneiladesign

Then look into the folder modules/boonex/forum/templates

and

modules/boonex/forum/layout

Hope it helps

Thanks. I did install a couple free templates that work with the forums. What should I be looking for in the forum templates and layout? The problem I am having is that forum links are displaying incorrectly kind of like [L[Forum Index] or similar. Other than that, the forum looks fine in my template.

modules/boonex/forums/layout is normally the only place in the forums that are changed.

Usally done by makeing a copy if the modules/boonex/forums/layout/uni folder ginging the folder a new name, then editing the perams.php file in the new folder and changing the 3 occurances to UNI to the new name.

Then you make all your forum skin changes in that new folder.

[L[Forum Index] or similar. Other than that, the forum looks fine in my template.

That meens you need to compile it. Same as the UNI template. All custom forum templates need to be compiled in the manage forums section, and you always start with compiling the default UNI template first. Then each custom template has to be compiled.
