Orca Forum version 1.0.4 by Boonex

Hi all,

I need a forum for my website and I saw in my dolphin 7.0.4 admin panel that I have the following module:

Orca Forum version 1.0.4 by Boonex

Before I installed it I was curious if any of you has some experience with it - is it stable or is it buggy?

It's a rather basic forum module with some AJAX effects. It works as it should, though it isn't for those who need more than a basic forum (e.g., sub-categories, more permission controls, etc.). I also agree that you should upgrade to the latest version as soon as possible.

I am just afraid that I will ruin something during the upgrade....my website is working fine now...

Orca module wants me to recompile my php with xslt option...++ I see a lot of negative review for Orca in the forum...

Is there other alternative - I was searching the market - I cannot find a lot of options...strange....can you recommend me something that would work?

Modules shouldn't break anything, unless you're making changes to the files themselves. Orca requires PHP to be compiled with XSL. If it isn't, you'll have to have your hosting provider recompile it for you (this shouldn't be too complicated). If you don't want to use Orca, there are phpBB and vBulletin integrations in the market, which are offered by third parties. Those are the only other options, unless you want to hire someone to develop something else for you.
