One click install of Dolphin by Installatron?

This is the link of Installatron for the Web Applications they currently support to enable users with a FREE account to install each of those Applications with one click. They also have a more than reasonably priced pro paid version with added support.

After contacting Installatron asking them if they had any plans to add DOLPHIN to their list of one step installations I received this reply from Installatron,

"I don't have a precise ETA for Dolphin. Notwithstanding any unforeseen complications (primarily, we still need permission from Boonex to add the app package), I think a safe estimate for Dolphin's inclusion is within three months."

Hope and trust that Boonex will give that permission and that once Dolphin is added to Installatron's supported software this will open up a whole new world for those who are not particularly computer pros as of yet but who would still like to take their shot at having a Dolphin Community.

Be well all,

Zen Wink

If it's anything like the Softaculous one click install the world it opens up will be a world of pain.

 Mscott,

Sorry taken so long to reply. I've been in and out of the hospital this past month for some serious surgery that finally has turned the corner and is going well. But as for Softaculous, I have used that to install Dolphin on a server with virtually no problems so not really sure it would be all that painful to use Installatron if it is at all similar to using Softaculous. But sorry to hear you had problems with it.

Installatron does have one outstanding thing going for it which Softaculous certainly does not and that is basically to have much of their code available for others to modify and change to allow other programs to be installed with it. See AN Jay's post Ten Rock Solid Free Platforms To Start Your Successful Website

And importantly, "Installatron has an open installer format that and SDK that enables the creation of custom application packages. ANYONE is welcome to create a third party package for any of these apps." Phil of Installatron So hopefully even one or more of the poets of coding here at Dolphin could look into seeing if it would be worthwhile to use the current Installatron code to make for a more easy instillation of Dolphin than the multiple present steps that it takes.

In the meantime...thanks for the post and keep posting! ;-)

Oh I've never had problems with Softaculous, I've never used it. I said that because we have helped so many people in the past who came here with problems that were initiated by the Softaculous install.
