Offline for 15 hours...

Why would BoonEx go offline for 15 hours with no explanation on what happened, why.

If I were new here, I would consider it not a good thing.

so the demo site is on a separate server you think?

When did this occur?  I have been gone all day since early morning.  When my server goes offline, I post a notice afterwards to my members, even if I don't know the reason, and I apologise.  It is called customer relations even though they are not really customers.

Explanation Boonex?

Quote · 19 Nov 2013

The demo site runs on a different server. I'm not sure what happened that caused downtime for most of the day - it could have been a DDoS attack, some technical issue (like a failed power supply that nobody noticed), or something else.

Hopefully Andrew or someone else at BoonEx will make an announcement or explanation post in the forums for us curious types.

While the version of Nginx BoonEx.com uses may be affected, I don't think it could cause an entire server to be down.

Unless they took the site off line while upgrading the rather outdated version they were using.

I saw that it was down, but it didn't affect the level of Boonex support at all.

Again, why does this happen for soooooo long before they realize that the site is down.

Puzzles me.

It looks like it was some hardware failure.

Ironically it happens on Sunday night when nobody could handle it immediately.

We have just recovered it on Monday morning.

Perhaps you should switch to rackspace. They work Sundays.

But then again. It may not be worth the crazy prices they charge.

The problem was that "the server is down" notification couldn't be handled by us at this time.

This problem had happened before, but investigation performed by us and hosting support showed no problems in hardware and software on the server. It just happens randomly in period from several months to several years.

We have added more people to the servers monitor, with different time zones, so it shouldn't be missed next time.

It was a pain the Boonex server was down all that time last night as I needed access to market  ... I understand these things do happen from time to time though.
