HL, your site has a lot of modifications to it right..

I see one of my sites using the a facebook template did not like the upgrade patch, killed the whole site.

the module "advanced wall" caused problems...

I'm actually doing a restore on my site due to several errors that I encountered. My site is heavily modded, so I should have expected that. Oh well, I guess its a manual update for me.

I can comment out these two lines in inc/design.inc.php and bring the site to life:

$oZ = new BxDolAlerts('system', 'design_included', 0);
$oZ->alert();

why don"t you guys copy your site to a sub folder, create a new database, copy the old database into the new one, update your header your header.inc.php and do the upgrade and testing before moving on to the life site?

Just a thought cos that is the way I did it and my life site still feels good :-)

Enjoy!

Ahh yea, what is always said, back up your old site and data :-)

I'm glad you found your comfort zone, however I prefer a more ballsy approach.  I have found that it also helps to slam a few tequila shots, and take a few bong hits before beginning the upgrade.

No... that code wasn't there.  I guess I missed the part of the upgrade instructions that said you had to manually add that code to header.inc.php

That fixes the issue thumbs up to Esase. Open header.inc.php Just put the code under

require_once(BX_DIRECTORY_PATH_CLASSES . "BxDolService.php");

//paste this

require_once(BX_DIRECTORY_PATH_CLASSES . 'BxDolAlerts.php');
$oZ = new BxDolAlerts('system', 'begin', 0);
$oZ->alert();

I check my header.inc.php file and I have the right code but still have this Fatal error: Class 'BxDolAlerts' not found in /****/****/public_html/inc/design.inc.php on line 542 issu

I would double check the /inc/header.inc.php file and look for this at the bottom of it:

require_once(BX_DIRECTORY_PATH_INC . "security.inc.php");
require_once(BX_DIRECTORY_PATH_ROOT . "flash/modules/global/inc/header.inc.php");
require_once(BX_DIRECTORY_PATH_ROOT . "flash/modules/global/inc/content.inc.php");
require_once(BX_DIRECTORY_PATH_CLASSES . "BxDolService.php");
require_once(BX_DIRECTORY_PATH_CLASSES . 'BxDolAlerts.php');
$oZ = new BxDolAlerts('system', 'begin', 0);
$oZ->alert();
?>
