News on homepage do not dislay proper amount of text.

Hi everyone.
I've been experiencing the following problem ever since I updated from version 7.02 to version 7.03 and after upgrading to 7.04 in the past few days the problem is still there. In the admin panel there's an area for site news - how many articles show up on the homepage - how much preview text is available - and so on. Well, this preview text worked fine in D7.01 but now it won't show up at all anymore.

Here's a link to the homepage ....

Just the headline for the news shows up, that's all. I tried clearing the cache, I tried viewing all of the files/permissions which all show up with green checkmarks, I tried changing the amount of text from 350 characters to 250 and then to 500 ... but no matter what I do, just the headline remains all by itself. If you click on the headline the entire news segment shows up just fine, but I also want to display part of that news text on the homepage. Any ideas as to what could be going on?

in admin click on news module if its old news which you had from 7.0.3 you will need to edit it  once you click edit there is a section called Snippet add the portion of the news you want in the Snippet  section and it should display under the title

Thanks a bunch ... but that only worked for the most recent post which is about 6 weeks old. I can't change anything on news older than that because it won't save the changes. Tried everything, even rewriting some of the news and adding different size snippets. No matter what I do, the older news won't get saved ... as soon as I check the site (caching is disabled) it's all back the way it was before. Other ideas anyone, please?
