That functionality does not exist in the default Dolphin News and Articles modules but there are third party modules that gives you this flexibility, see : Paypal email is jeromemingo@gmail.com - http://www.boonex.com/market/posts/modzzz |
Modzzz Ultimate Articles. One of the very first Dolphin mods I bought many years ago and still one of the most useful! That functionality does not exist in the default Dolphin News and Articles modules but there are third party modules that gives you this flexibility, see :

I do not want to buy modules to replace those of BoonEx. |
I'm sure there are ways to let them post 'news' and 'articles'; just not through news or articles modules. Think creatively. They could make 'blog posts' as articles; forum posts as 'news'. Remove the news and articles modules, or links to them in navigation, then users won't get confused. You can then rename blogs to articles and forum to news. No. I hire somebody to write articles and news. A jurnalist. I can not give her admin account.Fnally going to give me the text and I put them but ... |
you could give the journaist limited admin access tot hat they can only access the news feature admin. |
You are going to have to rethink about buying some modules. Boonex is very slow to some changes in the platform. Modzzz is a good developer to work with. There is also a module in the market where you can grant limited access to the backend; so you could grant access to only the news and articles module section; http://www.boonex.com/m/multi-admin-access The other would to be hire someone to do custom code but I would go with the modules that allow this since those modules have been hardened over time by users reporting bugs and requesting features. Please ask the module developers specific questions you may have before purchasing as many do not offer refunds. Geeks, making the world a better place |
The other benefit of buying a decent module from a decent dev is it will get upgraded with dolphin updates. Small purchase for a lot of support...
You could make changes to some of the user access modules as suggested but then its easy to overwrite them with updates and lose what you changed unless you keep an eye on whats being updated. End of the day, there are solutions out there custom built for the job you need. Depends if the time you will spend figuring out another way to do it could be better spent elsewhere for the price of a module... Ultimate Articles is not the much anyway so far as I can remember... |
If you don't use blogs, that would be an easy one to change. Then just make a membership level thats not for sale to have access to write blog posts, and upgrade your writter to that level. Will prob take a bit of name changing and layout changing to get it to look right, not much though. |
that is a good option! multi access and is cheap. Buddy i think this is your solution. You are going to have to rethink about buying some modules. Boonex is very slow to some changes in the platform.
