New to Dolphin

I'm new to Dolphin and trying to figure out how to use it more effectively.  I've read the tutorial posted by one of the users and learned lots of new things.  But I would like to get my home page to look more like Boonex.com homepage.  The site right out of the box has Latest news, boonex news, public photos or any other module you want on the main page.  I know how to move those around using Page Builder and make modules viewable.

What I can't figure out is how to insert large pictures like the home page.   http://www.boonex.com/

or create static text pages like,  http://www.boonex.com/features

Can anyone point me in the right direction, thanks

Welcome!

If your Dolphin is installed correctly, you'll have a visual editor on each html block under the page builder. There you can insert any pictures, text, etc.

Thanks for that advice, I made the HTML block active and now I can write some code.  Just what I needed to know.

Thanks a million

Welcome!

I was actually waiting for the normal newbie responses of 'What do you mean visual editor', 'What block are you talking about', 'what is this admin panel you speak of'. haha

Want to make it look like Pintrest? Just put ONLY the 'Outline' box on a single column page for the 'Homepage'. You need the timeline installed for the Outline box to appear.

Nothing to see here

A couple of things to remember:

If you plan on making changes to anything, in which you do not use the admin section of your site, I would recommend turning off all caching. If not, you will have to constantly clear your cache. ( https://yoursite.com/administration/cache.php?mode=settings ).

Also, a great investment is one of two of Deano's products listed here: http://www.boonex.com/m/Deanos_Tools_V1_6_Dolphin_7_0_Version or http://www.boonex.com/m/Block_Tools. Either one of these will make life a lot easier.

Welcome to the world of Boonex Dolphin.  There is a lot of information stored here in the forums.  You can use the magnifying glass to search the site or you can also search with external engines which I prefer because you have more filters you can employ to help narrow down the search.  If you can not find it, then feel free to ask.

If you are thinking of buying some modules to make things easier, I also recommend Deano's Head Injections and Modzzz has a new site injection module; I have head injections but yet to obtain the site injections.  These two modules will allow you to add code to the pages without having to edit templates; the head injection module works off of the page title, if you just need javascript added to one page and not site wide, that will do it.  Modzzz can tell you more about his site injection module.

Geeks, making the world a better place

Geez, I thought you knew I support Dolphin/Boonex to the max...

I have many members (on boonexsupport.com) that do not want to pay the $5 for some reason so they join my site as many other Dolphin support sites out there.

NO, I have several admins helping there, Prashank25, and Deano to start with.

Why?

Because when Boonex.com goes down, we meet there and discuss what we want.

NO spam there.. thanks.
