Hi. I am wanting to use Dolphin to improve my site, which has been around many years, but I need a whole new format. I'm hoping to use it to make the site a more basic form of DeviantArt, for the specific type of art my site has. Basically, members can join to upload their art and have it commented on and faved, etc.
However a problem lies in the limitations of the Photo Module, or whatever it's called. I'm wanting people to be able to categorize their stuff based on several different factors, and have the photos searchable by those multiple factors. Like "Find all pics with both Factor A and Factor C", etc. I mostly deal with fanart from anime series, so having it searchable my series name, character gender, and keyword would be an example. Tags and Categories help a bit for this, but I'd like a more organized structure, and it appears to lack ability to search/filter using more than one factor.
Another problem is I want to, as an Admin, be able to directly add pics to members folders, when needed; And also be able to transfer pics between different folders all over the site, not just between folders of a specific member.
Another thing desired is if members can upload text files as if they were pics, like you can do on DeviantArt.
On my site I also have sections where theres general photo content, usually uploaded by me. However I want all of the galleries to integrate well into each other.
I've previously had Dolphin installed on my site to test it out, though I made a mistake and it had to be reinstalled; at the moment it's giving an error I'm trying to fix, I personally lack the knowledge to properly install it myself (my host, who I know personally, did it for me before).
I can post more details and questions as time goes on but I'm just wondering if my ideas are possible, given the current limitations of the certain modules. I know there's ones you can purchase but I don't know if those actually offer specifically what I'm looking for. As far as having anything custom done for me, I don't really have any money to offer.
Does anyone have any advice about anything I've posted?
