Need to upload avatar twice before visible

When a new member joins, he/she must upload there avatar twice before it gets visible and it's on all the places.

On the profile page we use the "Profile Photo" block and after uploading a avatar it's empty till someone add the avatar again.
On other modules like EvoWall it's visible as avatar after only one time.

When you've uploaded your avatar twice it's visible everywhere and when you look in your album you see that the numer of photo's is 2, but when you click on your album, you see only one photo. The other is not visible and seems hidden...

Anyone an idea how to solve this? Because it's very frustrating for new users to must upload there profile photo twice.

I think you are confusing the two animals; avatars are NOT profile photos.  Now I have no problem with avatars, I use avatars on my site and members like them.  I also have profile photos.  I recommend not adding avatars to profile photos because default avatars are small 64X64 and look crappy when added to the profile photo block.

The profile photo block is for photos and is handled by the photo module.

Avatars are handled by the avatar module.

But why is it after 2 uploads that it's visible in the profile photo area than?
