Need to be able to turn off Cupid!

Urgently request that there be a way to turn off cupid.  It is not possible to uncheck the "enable matchmaking" while still having the "Enable view match percent for profiles"  - it will just recheck itself when you save.   I believe this has been an issue through all the betas - but it is still not resolved.   I think it is possible that the matches are going out for all members - just as my tags return matches for all members.  If so, this is terrible - essentially turning our communities into spam machines.   I wanted the match percent on, and considered it an important part of my site, but have gotten complaints so have turned it off that way.  Has anyone found a solution to this?

UPDATE:  After turning this off in the setting, cupid emails are still being sent - possibly to everyone - a disaster.  Boonex, this is serious - my site is not sending out spam.   I have now completely disabled the matching in both profile fields that were being used for matching.   It is absolutely essential that the controls for stopping emails from being sent work - this is very basic.

Did you ever figure this one out? I have the same problem. Apparently, if the "notification email" in the profile edit is set to "0", the user shouldn't receive notifications anymore - only that it turns off the regular notifications as well, messages, etc.

It wouldn't be that big of a problem, but it doesn't work right - I get homosexual males sent as match to heterosexual males, etc. The percentage doesn't work.

@ Day

It was a little problem with Cupid mails beeing sent before the profile activation is D7.0.0. This issue is solved in D7.0.1.

I added a custom profile field named "Sexual orientation" - hetero, homo and bi - with adequate matching percent.

Everything is working fine. Until now I didn't find any Cupid mail sent to a *wrong* recipient...

I have made the custom field with sexual orientation, it's set for 100% match, and people still get the wrong matches.

this might help...i changed the email template to say 'Someone has viewed your profile at "domain name"' and change the body of the email to say your profile has been viewed, instead of match notification and you have a new match..
