Need a video playlist in Dolphin!?

This would be a great solution for videos in Dolphin

At the moment, we are limited (using the regular Dolphin vid setup) to having a separate video section with standalone videos, or embedding them in html, or in some instances, including a single video in a separate block in an article or blog etc...

Due to Dolphin videos having to render ahead of playback, it becomes necessary to split longer videos into short sections. Otherwise, users are stuck having to wait for a video to render through in order to skip sections they may have already watched.

This though presents another dilemma.

If a video is embedded in an article and there are maybe 4-5 sections, it then becomes possible for all 5 videos to be played at once! Therefore sucking the bandwidth up on an already strained server.

Embedding from another site helps this but then adds the unwanted feature that a user maybe taken off your site if they double click a video and end up on youtube .. lost in the world of fail videos!

So, how about a playlist for videos using the built in dolphin player and vid system???

This would be ideal. To be able to create multiple playlists and embed them throughout the site :-)

Great for articles, blogs and other info modules.

I for one would pay extra for this feature if it was not to be included in dolphins regular script. For me, it has become an essential need to the point that unless I can get this sorted, im forced to think of other solutions, even other scripts... (dont want to do this as have invested a loooong time in Dolphin setups and a considerable amount of money!).

So, please if anyone can suggest how this can be done, or a work around solution, I for one would be most grateful!

no joy :-(

Tried a couple of approaches.

1 changing the actual dolphin player to JWplayer. This shows the JW player when I try to watch a video but cannot play it. Says 'cannot connect to video' then shows the file source path which is correct.

2 - installing JWplayer to the server and using it to embed. Blgos, articles, forums all the same. Embed code shows a flash embed in html but then is blank when trying to view it normally.

Ive noticed this with a number of other options I tried when it comes to embedding. Seems something in Dolphin blocks a lot of embed codes...
