My FIrst Problem - Video Types

I knew it was too good to be true.

How to enable f4v files to play.

I have added the f4v extension in all the places that I could find, but i get an access denied after uploading an f4v video file. I would greatly appreciate if someone could provide me a list of all of the locations where I must add this file extension. So far the only file extension that works is wmv. I tried f4v after that and had problems. will try other formats and see what happens with them.

It's possible the ffmpeg binary doesn't support that format.

THanks for the response - hadn't thought of that

That would be my best guess also. f4v is fairly new. 2-3 years, the ffmpeg binary provided which i am sure is not the latest version may not support it.

just tried an 11mb flv file and same access denied error

also with an mp4

so far the only thing that works is a wmv

Question:

this is my htaccess file:

DirectoryIndex ../../../file_error.html
Options -Indexes

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule ^([0-9]+).(flv|mpg|mp4|m4v)$ ../../../file_error.html
</IfModule>

does this mean not allow these file types, or allow these file types???

ANd last - this is my error from log:

[19-Nov-2010 20:11:53] PHP Warning:  Adding option (Name: allow_url_include Value: 0) (17, 1) failed!
in Unknown on line 0

Realized one error added some code to increase file upload size in main site htaccess file. deleted this added info, and flv and mp4s work now, wmvs still working

OK, got it figured out. It was a size error. Had one more location to chage in (main php file = post_max_size). Again, don't understand why I had to change it there when php file in public_html reflects larger upload and post max sizes.

But now even my f4vs work. THank God, I didnt want to have to conver all 148 of them.
