You're welcomed to have your own support site (though I don't know why you can't use the forums or PM).  My only concern would be that you're spreading yourself a little thin if it's one-on-one.

Newton, please calm down and take a rest from the forums.  You are a valuable member to this forum; I see you helping a lot of people on here and you missing from the forum is not going to do anyone any good.

Newton why the heck would you want to be banned lmao ?!   We all know true support for newbies / users are given by us seasoned users and this is getting thinner all the time ... At least 'hold it down' for those that are grateful to have your help and your friends (like me) that enjoy knowing you and working with you to figure the different issues we come across :/

A bit surprised to see this thread. I agree with previous comments that those that help newer members should be given a bit more "room" to post in the forums... they've earned it.

Maybe someday I will be able to contribute more than I ask of the forums.. :)

Far as Newts worth here, it is freaking priceless.. he takes time to help ANYONE with any problem no matter how small or repetitive it might be. He does it cause he wants to help, not cause it is his duty. If it wasnt for Newt, Shanky, And Deano I wouldnt have the sites I have.. they all have save me countless times.. oh and HL when he is not up in Pittsburgh living all high and mighty.

Don't worry guys, this is one newbie who will not be offering any more help. All I did was point out on another thread that there is actually something that works for stopping your sites getting spammed, and wham I'm the bad guy!

I've never said Newton isn't an asset. I just pointed out that lately his posts have gone over the edge .. so it's good to see he is taking a break.

This forum can be ok for getting technical support sometimes, but for entertainment, it can't be beat.

 Do you mean the part where a large percentage of the developers can no longer be found or the part where the boonex team has 'alter egos' in the market to feed off the boonex experience?

 what other flaws are there? I can't market a product with flaws. I just wrote a super long post about the importance of me knowing these flaws, but it was so long that I decided to delete it.

Biggest Flaws in my mind is that Dolphin started out to be a open source product where contributors were able to develop programs to implement into the whole picture. Knowing that the product was free to use gave them a sense of "giving back" or contributing to the less fortunate but individuals that will take action towards their betterment. These contribution is what made Dolphin great and popular. Now that feeling of giving back is only in the forum, the product support at a ,forgive me, "Corporate level" is minimal although I consider the Market developers/Boonex employees helpful with their products.

   They should be, they are supporting their own work. Although I question why most of them(Developer/Boonex employees) are not contributing to the forum which even since March has dwindle in support. And who better to help in forums then the  ones who know the software  best.

  Then there is the licensing issues, that a site owner is not capable of transferring their site to another owner. Not to mention that Boonex formal agreement with software developers does not include the same.

  Then there is the Market issue, where protections have not been put into place to ensure that a member doesn't get hassled with software that is not compatible with their versions. Market is as outdated as the Help section using directions for Dolp 6

 Then there is the simple matter of helping with monetizing of the site. Where is the Banner program with power in numbers. Or the addition of Adsense slots in forums without having to modify source codes or even simple insertion of Analytics without have to modify _header.html.

One last thing is that developers of Dolphin have a undue advantage over the programmers that are selling their addons in the market. They know where the program is heading better then anyone. This will eventually make the support of Boonex addons virtually disappear or dwindle. Except for the ones that do it for the "giving back" compensation more then the money.

I will close with" I want Dolphin to be the best Software out and I believe they can get there, but not without change. Some of these changes are simple. Others more difficult and would take time. First though. A set of rules to live by.

Know where you came from and make your future a better place by surrounding yourself with people you would like to be like.

Lastly, be honest, express yourself, take criticizm, be willing to change, acknowledge when you are wrong and forgive.

OR changing names.  This one is important because if there are many forum topics were criticism has been placed and the name changes, new people coming in won't see them in the market; won't know them by the modules like the ones that have been around for a bit.
