Missing thumbnail for video

Has this been solved yet?  My uploaded vids still have no thumbnail! I see a new box for thumbnails but no thumbnail! 

THIS IS LIKE the crazy uncle nobody wants to talk about...WHY it is such an important feature!!!  When I post things like this remember 1 thing I do not hardly ever venture into changing core scripts EVER!  So when people say it must only be happening to you I find that hard to understand.  I thought this was resolved can someone re-point me to the resolution for this DARK thumb-less issue!  

Further I thought this was solved by Alex so why is it not added to the newest downloads?  ALSO why is there not a thumbnail option to be uploaded to get around this what is for me a constant issue!  IF I can upload a thumbnail it also would get rid of the sharing issue without a thumbnail!  

OK above is a much better way to deal with a thumbnail and puts the author in complete control of what he/she wants to public to see!  In a lengthy video there can be 100's of options and some thumbnails are priceless and PERFECT to send a message about the video.

I saw a note that the missing video thumbnail was being solved by grabbing the thumbnail from further into the video.

My understanding is that it will now go further into the video to grab the frame to use for the thumbnail.  Of course this will only apply to new videos that are uploaded, older videos will still have the black thumbnails.  And yes, this is happening on my site and I have yet to update.

THIS IS ABSURD that they keep changing it back to ZERO for GOD SAKE WILL YOU HARD CODE IT TO AT LEAST 10 -15 - 100 to whatever beside &*())(*  0.  ALEX really WT^ do you insist on zero in the hard code can you please tell me why you are stuck on 0 for an issue that has been talked about on this forum for at least 150 times!!!!

There is a proven correct way to fix this but yet at 7.1.2 you still hard code it to "0" WHY??? 

@GG thank you for that but I was convinced I had already changed that and that there was no way in the world the hard code could have been set back to zero in such a late version!  I STAND CORRECTED!!

Once I changed this back for about the 20th to 30th time it is working for the thumbnail but not the main screen...

It has been fixed in 7.1.3.
