Messenger/Simple Message not appearing in mbr menu

Hi,

I've just installed the messenger and simple message modules, and believe that they should then appear in the member menu which appears at the bottom of the screen.

This is not happening, and I would appreciate some guidance on what I've missed or could be wrong.

When I go to build the Member menu, there is no new block there to add or anything.

The simple messenger works when you hoover over the member icon and it shows the "chat" field; this is the simple messenger.

The only way for other members to show in the member menu is when someone actually sends a chat message.

The simple messenger will show what another member sends in [edit] a message via the internal message system.

Please elaborate more if I missed your point.
