Membership Levels Questions

Can someone explain why the membership levels for the system levels are greyed out?

I am trying to work out why I can't edit the system levels. When someone signs up they're automatically given the promotion level and not the standard membership, where can this be changed?

There is a free membership mod, what does that do? Once installed it doesn't show anywhere what it does? Its not in the modules section either.

Are there any free mods on the site here that can assist with the memberships section?

Cheers/

They're greyed out because you can't delete or disable them.

To have new members become standard instead of promotional just un-check "Enable promotional membership" at the top of that same screen.

I've never used the stock membership module but I believe you have to install it before you can process payments for member levels you create that have a pricing structure.

This is not right, if they're greyed out there is no option to untick.

If I click actions on the promotion then up the top nothing is changed, so basically the other 2, standard and non member really dont do anything.

So can someone who knows about the membership area, please look into this.

Please see the attachment.

Thank you.

Yes, you can't tick or untick them because they are hard coded into dolphin. You can't delete these 3 membership types. The way your system is setup now your promotional membership type won't be used.. new members will be standard by default.

There are three buttons at the bottom that say "Enable", "Disable" and "Delete" but these are ONLY for membership types you create.

But the problem is going back to the first post, when someone signs up they are given promotion membership, all I want them to have is Standard, how do I do this? I feel like I am going in circles here and this software is not allowing me to do this????

mscott explained that.

Uncheck the box that says enable promotional membership at the top of the page. Which you have now done from your screen shot.

All new members will be standard from there on. It does not change existing accounts.

If your saying the option is unchecked, but new signups are still getting promotional then something is broken. I have never seen that happen on any version of dolphin i have run. Try rechecking it, save and then uncheck and save and try a new signup again.

What if I only want my members to be able to sign up using the membership levels I created. How does this work?
