Member Photo

Hello, when members create  new account and select a photo to upload as their profile picture it doesnt appear on their account page its still either the male or female icon. Also when they go to edit their profile info, it doesnt give a profile picture option. Can someone help me figure this out? Thank you.

if the member join and fill in the picture form, after succes joined they wil aoutomatically redirect to avatar page, not account page,

then on that avatar page, they can set their picture based on join form

My site doesnt take them to avatar page, I have it set so they receive a confirmation email and they have to follow the link. Once they click on the link it takes them back to my site and says "your account will be activated within 12 hours". when i activate them through the admin page nothing else happens. Is there a way to make it automatic activation, where they receive an email and once they click on link it will be activated, so they dont have to wait for me to do it.

Yes there is,

In  Settings>Moderation Settings

Automatic profile activation after joining:check

Do not change profile status after editing profile information: check

Automatic profile confirmation without Confirmation Email: uncheck

This will send a confermation email that they have to click on a link

to activate their account.

They also have to watch junk folders for site mail.

after they comfirmed  they can login to your site. then if they are on my account they can click on avatar and will find their pic when joining.

I THINK THERE IS NO PROBLEM HERE.

well that doesnt happen for me, members confirm their account and it takes them straight to their account page. And the pic they chose while joining doesnt show and when they go to edit there is no option to change or add a picture.

Mine's a bit flaky too.  The photo I select during the join process, is not added to the "UserName's Photos" album.... thus the member photos block does not appear anywhere.  But I can add photos to the "UserName's Photos" album, then everything works OK.  This seems to work OK on boonex.us, so I need to do a little investigation.

Skipping the avatar page during the join process, is a bad idea, because you'll end up with a lot of members that have no avatar image,  With that said, that little checkbox on the avatar page next to the upload new avatar button, that offers the option of copying the avatar to the profile photos album, is just plain stupid and needs to go.  Why would anyone want a 64 x 64 image in their profile photo album, that when displayed, will look like total crap?  Avatars and profile photos, shouldn't even be discussed in the same context.

Maybe I'll write a ticket for this.  Something's definitely a little strange, but not all the time.  Does anybody know if boonex.us is at 7.0,.4?

boonex.us is running Dolphin 7.0.4. I know because after updating it, they locked everyone out for a day or two with the anti-spam tool.

I dont have the avatar module installed could that be the reason? But all I want is for users to be able to add one picture which will be there profile picture. I dont want them to have photo albums or anything.

I cant' take it anymore.  What kind of site are you making?  It seems as though all you want to do is disable everything.  Are you sure Dolphin 7 is the right platform for you?  Dolphin 7 was designed with a lot of user input and interaction in mind, so disabling everything in site to get a bare bones platform, doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

What does it matter what kind of site I'm making, if you don't know the answer then your opinion doesn't really matter. If you want your site overcrowded with useless tools then thats up to you. I'm not a professional programmer neither do I have a bunch of money to spend on building a custom site, which is why I chose Dolphin. And what I said had nothing to do with removing anything it was about getting something to work properly...
