Manual Change Membership Levels Doesn't Save

When I try to manually change membership levels, I get a whole lot of nothing.

I am running D7 (sorry, don't know where to get build number).

From my admin panel, I choose members and to edit a membership level, I click on the member name and am taken to that member's edit profile page.

The admin controls look kind of iffy as there seems to be more info to the right before the column cut off but I am not sure if that's some weird quirk or if it's a mistake or other weirdness.

member panel

After changing membership level to the type and duration I wish, I also click the ol' "starts immediately" thingie and then scroll on down to the bottom of the column to click on "save" . . . then . . .  NOTHING HAPPENS.

It is NOT saving for any changes.

It is very important that I be able to make this sort of change for folks so . . . both moving promotional memberships into one of my levels or for comping memberships for guest instructors or the like.

HELP!

All the best,

Brian

Hello can you specify you current dolphin version ? You can see it in inc/header.inc.php.  Maybe you have not stable version!

PS: If possible do not write me personally, please try to ask on the forum first

It seems to just say 7.0 in that file, I hope that's helpful as this is frustrating.

$site['ver'] = '7.0';

$site['build']             = '0';

Evidently, my problems are mostly browser based.  When I do it in Google Chrome nothing works but when I do it in Firefox the manual upgrade works fine.  This is odd.

Is this a known issue . . . I've not found anything about it.

I'm having the same problem with my site.  Tried in two different browsers though and the problem doesn't resolve.  I have D7.  All of the options for permissions in my Membership Level section are deselected.  When I select something and click save, nothing changes.

Just suggestion.

Use Fire Fox for admin area - it is most stable browser IMHO

We are having a problem with the membership levels and can't figure it out.

For all three default membership levels, all of the permissions are completely empty (none are checked).

We try to check different permissions and then click the enable button, but the page refreshes and all the permissions are still empty.

in other words, we can not use membership levels.  No matter what we select and enable, the page refreshes and everything is still completely empty.  It doesn't commit or retain any changes.

We have tried Firefox, Internet Explorer on Windows and also Firefox and Safari on Mac.  Changing browsers doesn't fix the issue.

The only solution I have found is to change browsers . . . for some functions, Google Chrome works fine and for others I have to use Firefox.  It's quite annoying but at least it works most of the time.  I really don't want to force my users to switch browsers though.

Ok how about this? If the button was able to be pushed to change the membership from promo to standard WHERE does the button change the level in the database? I want to change it manually where do I do that?

The problem is ... it DOES save to the new membership level, but you can only see this in the database in sys_acl_member. Instead of changing it in the database, it just creates a new record with the new level. So every time you click on that save button below, it creates a new record.

You can go in the database and delete the old levels per ID, leave the newest and than it will be shown on the profile and it the admin area.

It really sucks, because first you have to go in admin panel to find the ID number of the member and than you have to go in the database to delete the double or triple ID's.

It definitely is a bug and I'll report it;

Is there still no solution for it?? That's the last major problem I've at the moment.

There is no Save Button in my form. Not in IE, Chrome, FF

I'm running  7.0.3..... damn!

It's a pain to get help around here sometimes. Hmmm.

not sure if this is browser based, or just a slightly complicated thing that dolphin does!

Ive noticed when you try to change or'upgrade' someone membership manually (think this is what you are trying to do?)

Then the following happens.

Go to members via admin

Click on the member you want to upgrade.

This then opens that members profile but within the normal D site.

Then, I change the level of membership, set it to change imediately, scroll down and cllick save.

Now, mostly, nothing will happen.

Scroll back up and I notice there is a red exclamation mark next to the following

headline

Description

Town

Postcode

These all need to be filled in by default to upgrade, but not by default to join in some cases...

Once these are filled in, I then have to save again checking all the red exclamation marks are 'satisfied'. Sometimes description needs a longer filling...

Then, once this is saved, I then have to change the membership level again as it will have reset back to normal due to the exclamation marks needing attention!

Then it saves and the screen refreshes. User is upgraded.

Long process...

You can goto profile fields in admin under builders and delete some of the info needed.

This will need to be done for join, view and edit all seperately.

If you remove the 'postcode' for example in the join field, it will still appear as needed in the 'edit' field unless removed there also.

This explains the red exclamation marks and for me, has always been the reason manual changing of membership levels can be a pain in the *%&!

Hope this helps...
