Is it possible to give a member admin rights?

You can do this with this module : Deanos Tools V1.8.4 - Dolphin 7 Version

but then they have all admin rights so that is something you have to think about

This module: Multi Admin access v.1.2 is also good.

you can set admin rights yourself. I use it and it does the job for me.

Is that not the idea of making a user have Admin rights.  we use Deanos Tools and have no problems, so why pay $50 for a mod when you can get a free mod that does the same thing plus extra

if you are admin then you have complete control of the site.
with the module that cost 50 dollars you can set your other admin to have limited access to some of the site  tools...

but if you don't mind that all admins have complete control then hey who am i to say anything ;-)

why give limited access to an Admin, as an Admins job is to Administer the site, which they cant do if they have limited access.

Admin access should only be given to those you employ (paid/unpaid) to administer the site on your behalf.

why give limited access to an Admin,

I don't understand it either and would have no use for it myself, but the module was created by boonexpert 2 years ago as a lot of people were requesting that ability at the time. What people wanted was to have several admins each with the ability to administer only the areas they were assigned to administer and to not be able to touch the rest.

I'm working on a moderator panel at the moment (A bit lite the one in D6.x but more secure) that will allow moderators to do basic things like ban spammers, remove forum posts etc.

~~Mike ~~ This Signature is missing something :(
